​PROJECT OVERVIEW

Dauberman Road in Big Rock, Illinois was awarded for Construction in February 2023 for the proposed extension from its existing terminus at US Route 30 south to Granart Road.  The proposed Dauberman Road Extension will provide a grade separation over US Route 30 and over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad.  The purpose of the roadway extension is to provide a grade-separated crossing for safety, improved access, and system continuity.


PURPOSE AND NEED

The purpose of this project is to provide a roadway connection to improve access across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad tracks between the Village of Big Rock and the Village of Sugar Grove as well as address future transportation needs in accordance with the Kane County 2040 Transportation Plan and other local land use plans. The needs for this project include improving and enhancing the safety of the users, improving mobility in the region, and enhancing system linkage and connectivity of the transportation network in the County.

TIMELINE

Construction is anticipated to last approximately 2 years, with a completion date at the end of the 2024.
