​Silver Glen at Randall Road Right Turn Lane

Project Overview

The Kane County Division of Transportation is developing plans to construct a westbound-to-northbound right turn lane at the intersection of Randall Road and Silver Glen Road in the Village of South Elgin. In recent years, shifting traffic patterns have led to an increased demand for this right turn movement, resulting in excessive queueing at the east leg of the intersection. The purpose of the project is to improve the overall capacity of the intersection while specifically addressing the peak hour delays on the east approach.

Lane shifts will be used to maintain all lanes and movements through the intersection during construction, but some short-term daytime lane closures may be necessary.

Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2021.
