Kane Kendall Council of Mayors Bicycle and Pedestrian App
The Bicycle and Pedestrian App allows bicycle facility users in Kane (and Kendall) counties to view currently available facilities and amenities. Users can find information on:
- Bicycle Facilities (Kane and Kendall Counties Regional and Local)
- Trail Surface Type (Aggregate, Paved, etc.)
- Bicycle Accommodation Types (Path, Lane, Route, etc.)
- Bicycle Level of Traffic Stress (Major Routes)
- Bike Shops
- Parks
Kane Kendall Council of Mayors Bicycle Facilities Implementation Dashboard
This
dashboard supports one of the objectives of the 2012 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan to continually update a bikeway GIS database inventory system. The present version of the inventory is composed of local agency plans as well as the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning's Regional Greenways and Trails Plan.

website contains two sets of bicycle and pedestrian resources, one geared more for
planning purposes and the other for
general information. Information includes maps as well as educational resources and cycling-related organizations.

2019-2020 Kane and Northern Kendall Counties Bike Map
This map is updated periodically by staff at KDOT to reflect changes in the bicycle/pedestrian network. The data for bicycle facilities on the current map are up to date as of October 7th, 2020. The most recent data on bicycle and pedestrian facilities are available on the Bicycle Facilities Implementation Dashboard.
2012 Kane County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan
The 2012 Kane County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan provides a comprehensive identification of bikeways enabling governmental agencies in Kane (and Kendall) Counties to strategically plan bicycle and pedestrian projects to create a council-wide network that will improve public safety and encourage alternative modes of transportation. It also lays out a roadmap of objectives to promote cycling culture in the region.
